Holiday Treats....I can't stay away from them

24/25wks

Hit a big milestone last week. We are officially over 24 wks!! 25w1d to be exact. With all of the contractions going on and all of the unknown, 24wks was just something I strived for. 24wks is viability!! If she had to come early (which she is not!!) then 24wks is the earliest time that doctors would intervene and we could do everything we could to help her out. To surpass that first milestone has been such a relief! Next milestone 28wks!

It is amazing how fast time has flown by. It's hard to think that I have been sitting around for over 6 wks now. I have been quite entertained with friends and family stopping by, old CSI episodes, cupcakes and brownies. And Henley has certainly made her presence known in the past 2 wks. She is quite the kicker. I love it! It is so neat to sit around and watch my belly move.

So this being my first pregnancy I have the privilege (not so sure about that) of being introduced to all the new things that come with it. I call them the Pregnancy "really s?" (Sorry these might be a little personal)

  • My poor body. I am certainly starting to see the effects of no working out. Slowly but surly the dimples on my legs and butt have come into view. Small little love handles are making there way out. And my muscle tone is starting to dwindle.
  • When you are craving something you don't care what shape it is in. So I have found that stale cereal still makes for a great lunch. You just have to REALLY drown it in milk..(I wasn't about to go to the store to buy new cereal)
  • Romance is out the door. I no longer have control over my bowels, per say. I have now turned into a gas machine. To the point where I will just be walking and it comes out. I know women somewhat warn you of that, but come on this is ridiculous!
  • Dolly Parton I am coming for you! Ok, so I finally gave in and got fitted for new bras 2 wks ago. She measured me at at 36E! I'm only 25wks. I don't even have my milk in yet!...and the worst part is that was 2 wks ago....The bras are actually cutting into me now!
  • Poor Greg has finally gotten to see what pregnancy hormones are all about. I will wake up at 3 in the morning, wake Greg up and start bawling uncontrollably because I am scared he is going to leave me, or die and I will have to do this all on my own. Or if I see anything to do with animals I lose it and the floodgates open. For instance, a friend put on facebook that these dogs needed a good home or they would be put down. I went on the website just to take a look, and after looking at 2 dogs, started crying to the point that I couldn't breathe! I was crying to Greg that we had to save them all, they are going to die, they are so cute, they need our help! I cried so much about it I woke up the next morning with the bloodshot dots under my eyes.
  • I know I said that I would eat healthy and try to stay on track with that, but nothing about salad sounds great. The only thing I think about all day long is what do I get to eat for dessert? Cupcakes and brownies have been my kryptonite. As much as I try to listen to my inner voice and stay away, I always find myself straying to the cupboard. (and I know the holiday treats aren't going to help!) Damn you chocolate and sugar!
Welly hanging out with his sister. He has become quite attached to my belly. He loves to cuddle right next to it

The Perfect Henley

Would you look at that. Our little girl's name is so popular she has a shirt named after her.

I can't believe that I am half way done and have been home for over 2 wks already! I will be honest these first 20 wks did not go very fast. Here's hoping these last 20 fly by!

At my last appt my Dr. confirmed that I indeed have an irritable uterus and the best thing for me to do is to be around the house resting and taking it easy. Which means that I am done with work until after Henley is born. It feels weird to wake up in the morning and not do my usual routine. I already miss work and my girls that I work with. I miss my work family!!

Greg got a little project this week. He got to put together Henley's crib! Marci and Corey Laulom were so gracious to let us have their crib!! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!! It is perfect and we love it! I couldn't have asked for a nicer crib!

My sexy handyman

Finished product!

Last week we had both moms come into town for our anatomy scan. They had the greatest time. We took them to lunch and then to the ultrasound. The little diva put on quite a show. Auntie Mishella got the privilege (and sometimes stress due to how uncooperative Henley was) of doing our ultrasound. Needless to say she spoiled us with pictures. (Thank you again Mishella, we are all so thankful!!)

Greg and I have to laugh at this one. I use to joke with Greg that having his kid, I would be giving birth to the spawn of satan. This picture just proves it, she has HORNS!
Her ankles. Strong little kicker

We actually have a baby picture of Greg and when you put it up to this picture you can certainly tell it is his baby.

The arrow is pointing to her tongue.. She is sticking it out at us.

She is staring right at us

Yoga baby. Her feet are at her head

Mama's princess! I love this picture!

It was great having Mammers in town for the weekend. We got to have a mother/daughter night together while everyone else was out at Marilyn's birthday party. She made banana cake while I sat on the couch and read her the directions. And we ordered in takeout and watched a movie.

My dad is in town for this week and boy is helping us out! I put together a "Papa Love To Do List" for him. The baby's room and our storage room are getting organized. Plus, it has been great to have company around while Greg is at work. Oh and I am getting spoiled with Chich-Fil-A milkshakes.

It's too early for this.......

Some little diva had decided to put her mom and dad into an early panic!
Around 18wks. We have our anatomy scan this Friday. Both Grandmas are coming into town for it.

Last week I wasn't feeling very well. I was having a lot of pressure and what felt like cramps off and on. I tried my best to push through it for a few days but by Wednesday I felt I needed to call my Dr. She sent me home to rest and took me off work for a few days. I went home, relaxing on the couch like I was suppose to. But by 1 pm I was having what I knew were not cramps but small contractions. I could feel my uterus tightening and could even feel it on the outside. They started to get more frequent and a little harder.  I called my Dr. and she had me go down to Labor and Delivery to get checked out. Sure enough I was having contractions. They had me hooked up to the monitor and Greg and I could see them come and go. They weren't huge spikes on the monitor but you could certainly tell when I was having one. I tried my best to stay calm, but all I kept thinking was " I'm only 18w3d, this is too early".

They monitored me for a few hours and checked my cervix. My cervix was still closed and over 3 cm long. After about 5 hours my Dr told me that I wasn't in preterm labor but that I might end up being one of those patients who just contracts throughout her pregnancy. Great! I was sent home on indocine, a medicine to slow or stop the contractions. I went home freaked out!

For the next day and a half I laid on the couch feeling contractions. It's so hard not to focus on them when all I can do is think about them. Friday around 3 am we almost went back into L&D because I could not sleep and the contractions wouldn't stop. I knew I had a Dr. appt that morning around 8 but I didn't know if I would be able to make it till then. I tried laying down and putting my feet up. Well, I was able to fall asleep for the few hours I needed.

I got to my Dr's appt. She checked my cervix, still closed and 3 cm long. But, even at the Dr. office you could see and feel my contractions. She told me not to worry this happens a lot in pregnancy but to just take it easy for 2 weeks. She is hopeful this will just correct itself.

So here I sit or lay on the couch for 2 weeks. I at least make myself get up every morning and take a shower and put on real clothes. I will not give into the laziness of being stuck here! Oh, and Wellington is sure happy that I am here all day long.
My partner in crime for 2 wks. Good god he doesn't stop barking!

Whoever said that pregnancy was fun and easy, needs to kicked in the ovaries! This is not what I expected at all. I expected to be one of those women who could workout all they needed ( how the hell do women run half/full marathons pregnant. I try running 1 mile and I feel like something is going to fall out. And I use to run before getting pregnant) and just coast through these 40 weeks. Doesn't look like that is happening. Hopefully after these 2 weeks I will be cleared to move about the country :)
My FAVORITE part of an ultrasound..ahh she has mommies flippers

Where did that come from??

October 4th, 17w4d

Princess Bean is finally showing! I can not longer suck in my belly! And believe me I keep trying! It is so strange to look down and see this small protruding bump. I am still trying to stay away from pregnancy clothes. My stubbornness won't let me give in yet...But I did try some pregnancy jeans on yesterday and OMG I don't think I have ever put on something more comfortable! ...still doesn't mean I am ready for them yet!

Last night (October 3rd) I was laying on the couch and for some strange reason I kept feeling this tiny flick from inside me....I think our little girl is finally getting strong enough to say hi! That was the first time I had felt her move!!! When it happened I told Greg and he immediately put his hand on by belly thinking he would be able to feel something.I can't wait for her to get stronger so he can feel her.

Quick little photo shoot last week
Loves her hands right near her mouth

Dancing like her mama

Seriously! We have a thumb sucker all ready? Just like her daddy.

Now I have been trying to be good and not shop too much for her....BUT ITS SO HARD!! But, don't worry everyone, our little girl is all ready for the Vegas pool next June when we go for Mishella and Carlo's wedding. You didn't think I would be able to stay away from Vegas that long did you?

So long buttons!

15w3d

Ok, it's official. I can no longer button ANY of my pants. I guess I get to say hello to my new best friend the Belly Sleve. Greg, I have an excuse to go shopping now!!! I'll need the credit card!

15 weeks!

I'm going to look at it as "glass half full", only 25 more weeks!! We have had the privilege of being quite busy these last few weeks.

The princess looks like she is dancing. Gotta say she has the CUTEST profile! It's so dainty! Certainly not a DeHart profile

Last weekend I got to go home and spend some much needed time with my friends and family! It was the first time getting to see everyone since the baby news! I was so fortunate to get to go with my Jenn Jenn to her 19 wk US and see the new baby GIRL Hunt!! After we got to get together with all of our KM girls for a BBQ at the Grazier's. Always great to see my girls when I am town!

On Saturday we did a Mother/Daughter/Daughter day in Bellevue. Diana, Jenn Jenn, myself and all our moms first got together for brunch, then hit BabyGap to do a little splurging on our girls! (Gammy Stephanie went a little crazy with the cute outfits and matching shoes, but both Princess Bean and I are not complaining!) Afterwards we all treated ourselves to pedicures and cheesecake. It was sad to see the day end. It was such a great day with so many amazing women!  You ladies are all so special to me and I love every minute I get to spend with you!

My favorite girls! I didn't get a lot of pictures from this weekend, but Jenn Jenn did
Sunday night was spent being spoiled at the Herman's casa!! Papa Hermans BBQs some mean ribs! Needless to say I left happy and loved from the company, stuffed from overeating(but oh so worth it) and a few KitKat bars extra from raiding Bob's stash :) Thank you guys again for a wonderful evening with amazing food!

This weekend was kicked off by Sean and Danielle's wedding! We were so happy for them and so excited to celebrate there love! I always love a great wedding and a great open bar! However to Greg's favor he was the only one who got to participate in the open bar and I got the pleasure of driving his drunk ass home. This could get old, real fast!

The typical Klisser photo
Sunday I got to celebrate with Lauren and her family at her bridal shower. I could not be happier for her. She is glowing and so happy!  Her shower was held at the Park Hyatt Aviara in La Costa. All the ladies got together to enjoy High Tea! It was so cool to experience this. You choose your pot of tea you would like and they then bring you an assortment of small finger sandwiches, scones and desserts.

The beautiful bride to be!
Well, the champagne looked good! All the yummy treats!
Lauren's friends and family
Ta-dahh.. Lauren, you are just too cute!

Did someone say DIVA KLISSER?

Mommy called it!! It's a little diva!! Greg and I are having a GIRL!!!!! As you can tell I am over the moon, and Greg....well......he's scared. Go figure he would have one more woman in his life :) I think he was just meant to be surrounded by beautiful ladies his entire life. (he really is excited, I think he is still in shock though)

1 trimester down, 2 to go!

13w3d today! Wow, time is flying by so fast. It has been an amazing 2 wks. We had an amazing time in Europe (don't worry I will post about that later). I think the "all day" sickness is starting to subside. I have always had my appetite, I just have been walking around with a sour tummy since week 7.

Today was our nuchal screen. For those of you who don't know, the nuchal is the skin fold on the back of the neck. It is measured between 11-14 wks of pregnancy. The name of the game is a small nuchal. Preferably less than 3 mm. A nuchal of 3 mm or greater can increase your risk of having a baby with chromosomal abnormalities or heart defect.

Bean's nuchal was 1.7mm. Nice and within normal limits. It's crazy how much this little one has changed in just a few weeks. Here are a few pictures that Tracy took for us today! (thanks again Dr. Aunty Anton!)

Good looking nasal bone :)
Waving HI to us all

Just chillin in the uterus

Party of 3!

10 wks

The Klisser household is about to get bigger! We are PREGGO!!!!! That's right Greg and I will welcome a new addition to the family in March!  It has been so hard to keep this a secret from everyone. But knowing how much I worry and what I see at work everyday I wanted to wait until we were almost out of the first trimester. As I am writing this I am 11w2d (written on August 21st), still not completely 2nd trimester but close enough. I can't wait any longer!

We found out 2 days before the 4th of July. This little one decided to surprise us right before our summer Vegas and Europe trip. (Let me just tell you, Vegas, sober = meltdown by end of trip. Lets just say Greg got an earful. whoops. I blame the pregnancy hormones)  We are over the moon about this little addition coming!

This has been the most photographed little bean. We have been fortunate to be able to see the development of this little one since week 5! (which I will tell you at week five sometimes there is not something there right away. I freaked out because I was a little over 5wks and no one was home. But not to worry, it was just too early. By week 6 a little bean had sprouted) and NO i did not do these Ultrasounds myself. My Dr did.

So let us be the first to welcome you to "Bean". That is the nickname that has stuck with us for this little munchkin.  ( I was too lazy to scan the pictures so you get the "Kent ghetto"version; picture taken from my phone)

Baby looks like an actual baby!!! The little bubble in the corner is the yolk sac, which was providing baby with nutrients until the placenta kicked in.

We are off to Europe for 2 wks! Greg's uncle is turning 60 in France so we are traveling out to be with the family! First stop, London for 2 day!! After London we take the train to Paris for the night. Then off to the Eastern border of France to the town of Metz ( where Greg's family lives) for the weekend. After the weekend we take the train to Amsterdam for a few days then finish off with the weekend in Paris. And SURPRISE Tana and Jeremy are meeting us there!

We will have plenty of pictures and stories to tell when we get back! Thank you for being a part of our lives and sharing in this amazing experience with us!

I'm not so good at this blogging thing

Ok, so I know it has been a while since I have been on here to update things. A lot has happened since the beginning of December( no shit Kristen, its the end of March). Greg and I moved from Del Mar to Pacific Beach. Lol. Apparently we are trying to relive our 20's again. (For those of you that aren't familiar with PB, it is the beach college party town) We love it! We are two blocks away from the bay, so we can run or walk the boardwalk whenever we want. Greg bought a beach cruiser so now we can ride our bikes where we need to go instead of driving ( still working on this one though, my tires still have no air in them!)

He's too sexy for his shaggy hair!

 Hi guys! I love you

Happy hour with his best friend Millie

So the Klisser's have been traveling lately. (Yes, and there is more to come) Greg and I traveled to San Francisco and Las Vegas at the beginning of March.
San Francisco was so much fun! We got to spend great time with Amy, Eric, Kirsten and Katie while we were there. We got in late Friday night so we just did a quick dinner. Saturday morning we met Amy, Eric and Kirsten and headed off to Alcatraz. The weather was perfect for it.
On our way over to Alcatraz...This is a no booze cruise folks!
 The Klissers at sea
 Ahhh my Kirsten!
Where G belongs...behind bars...with that "boats and hoes" t-shirt! Yah that's what it says!
All aboard boys! Greg and Eric ready to set sail!

I told you it was a beautiful day out!

 San Francisco from the distance

After Alcatraz we headed to dinner and met Katie there. From there it was off to the Marina District for a fun filled Saturday night.
Margaritas at an Irish bar..why not. Bartender got mad at me for ordering them "We aren't known for our margaritas" Well that's what I want mister don't backtalk to me!
I guess these are the only 2 pictures I have from the night........

Sunday Kirsten met us in the Castro District for brunch. OMG is all I have to say about  Bisous. What an amazing restaurant. Amazing food, bottomless mimosas (literally they never let you empty your glass) and super friendly staff. We stayed about 2+ hours and then wandered the streets of San Fran.
(ok these are out of order but oh well)

 Shopping on Haight Ashbury Street

Oh you know you have to stop and have "sweaty bawls" ice cream

Ok, so this picture comes with a story. So after MANY mimosas at brunch we decided to go shopping. It was 80 degrees out and Greg was in a long sleeve shirt. We found a store in the Casto District and I stormed in and announced to the entire store that " We need to make my husband sexier. He needs shirts!!" So after all the sales men start working their magic ( the man in the picture above was one of them) they get G lots of shirts to try on. I start talking to Isaiah (above) He tells me that tomorrow is his 42 birthday!! I couldn't believe it. This man does not look like he is in his 40's at all! We keep talking and Greg finds some shirts. I'm a little buzzed so I decided that Greg needs ALL the shirts he tried on as well as the "cock" hat that was in the store. ( drunk wife here) $100 we leave the store. I have to pee so we go next door and I use the restroom. It was a wine store that I went in. While I'm peeing I get this great idea that Isaiah needs a bottle of champage. It's his birthday tomorrow after all!! So what do I do, $25 and a bottle of champagne I walk back into the store and hand his gift. All I say is "never forget a drunk wife" He laughed and hugged me. I still love my good idea I had :)
 Brunch at Bisous!

Greg with his harem

We had such an amazing time in San Francisco again!! And what trip wouldn't be completed without an earthquake to wake you up at 5:30 in the morning the day we leave.....until next time SF!

So the weekend after we traveled to Las Vegas (shocker) to hang out with Lauren, Dave and their friends and family!! We stayed at Planet Hollywood this time. Nice hotel, ehhh pool. It was great weather so during the day we hit the pool and at night hit the casino (still not a fan, I want my money back Sex and The City machine!)

Happy hour at Pink Taco in the Hard Rock Hotel! Great way to start the evening!

Lauren was the big winner of the weekend!! She love's her craps!
 Oh Klisser!
Beer pong back at Lauren and Dave's hotel room. Yep, they brought their own table! Awesome!
Dinner the next night at The Pub. We went and saw a hypnotist while the rest went to play craps later that night. And no, I could not get Greg on stage :(
The gang at dinner! Lauren's family met us out that night!

Ahh Vegas, you know I love you. I'm trying to break my habit of you, but you are just so sweet! As usual Greg and I had a great time and will be back soon...stay tooned for where the Klisser's end up next :)
